This Privacy Policy explains how Lovethics ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you use the Lovethics app, lovethics.com, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service you acknowledge these practices. It is incorporated into our Terms & Conditions and works alongside our Cookie Policy.

The ratings you give and receive, and the signals used to compute and display reputation within the Service. Ratings are structured, category-based, and (like the two-way systems used by rideshare platforms) drawn from multiple members over time.
We may receive data from the accounts you link for verification, from analytics and infrastructure providers, and from safety or fraud-prevention partners.
We use personal information to: create and maintain your account and verify identity; operate core features including matching and in-person meeting confirmation; compute, display, and maintain reputation; promote safety, detect fraud, investigate reports, and enforce our Terms; process transactions and manage subscriptions; communicate with you (service and, where permitted, marketing); analyze and improve the Service; and comply with legal obligations.
We rely on performance of a contract (to provide the Service), consent (for certain processing, including special-category data and some marketing — withdrawable at any time), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service and prevent abuse), and legal obligation.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Where any analytics or advertising activity is treated as a "sale" or "sharing" under U.S. state laws, we honor the opt-out described in Section 06.
Some information you choose to provide may be sensitive under applicable law — including data that may reveal sexual orientation, precise geolocation, and information derived from identity verification. Where required, we process it only with your consent or as permitted by law, and you may leave optional sensitive fields blank.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a portable copy of your personal information; to object to or restrict certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to appeal. Exercise these in the app or by emailing privacy@lovethics.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
You can control notifications, location, and tracking through device and account settings, and opt out of marketing via the unsubscribe link or in-app controls.
Residents of states including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and Utah have rights to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising, certain profiling, and the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. This section is our "Notice at Collection" where required; the categories we collect and our purposes are described above. We honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control. Washington residents: see the health-data note in Section 05.
We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. Reputation operates on a rolling 180-day window, so signals older than 180 days no longer affect your displayed reputation — no one is permanently defined by their worst moment. After you close your account, we retain limited information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements, then delete or de-identify it.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your information, we will notify you and regulators as required by law. Report concerns to security@lovethics.com.
We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses for cross-border transfers.
The Service is only for adults 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we will delete it and terminate the account.
We may update this Policy. For material changes we will provide notice through the Service or by other means at least 30 days before they take effect where feasible, and update the date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Lovethics ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You may not use the Service if you are barred under applicable law, if we have previously terminated your account, or if you are required to register as a sex offender in any jurisdiction. You represent that all of this is true.
Lovethics is an accountability-based platform for meeting people. It lets verified members connect, meet in person, and give each other structured, category-based feedback that contributes to a member's reputation on the Service. Features may change, and we may add, modify, or discontinue them at any time.
You must provide accurate information, complete our verification steps, and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You may hold only one account; you may not impersonate anyone, use another person's identity, or create an account for someone else. We may refuse, suspend, or revoke verification or accounts at our discretion.
Members who have met may rate each other across defined quality categories. Modeled on the two-way rating systems used by rideshare and delivery platforms, the system works on these principles, and by participating you agree to them:
Ratings and reputation reflect the subjective opinions of members, not statements of fact by Lovethics (see Section 05).
Ratings, reviews, scores, and reputation information are provided by members and reflect their personal opinions and experiences. They are not statements of fact by Lovethics, and we do not adopt, endorse, verify, or guarantee their accuracy, reliability, or completeness. Lovethics acts as a neutral platform for member-generated content and, to the fullest extent permitted by law, is not responsible or liable for that content. You are responsible for the ratings and content you submit.
Not a consumer report. Reputation information is for personal, social use only. Lovethics is not a consumer reporting agency, and this information is not a "consumer report" under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). You may not use it, in whole or in part, to make or inform decisions about a person's eligibility for employment, credit, housing, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.
You consent to being rated. Because mutual, structured feedback is a core function of the Service, you agree that other members may rate you across the defined categories, and you grant Lovethics the right to compute, store, display, and update your reputation as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
You agree not to, and not to help others: harass, threaten, defame, stalk, or harm any person; post unlawful, hateful, sexually exploitative, or infringing content; create fake, misleading, or duplicate profiles or misrepresent your identity or age; solicit money or promote commercial or fraudulent schemes; collect or scrape other members' information or use bots; circumvent verification, safety, rating, or security features; or violate any law. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts for violations. Report conduct through in-app tools or hello@lovethics.com.
You retain ownership of content you submit (photos, prompt responses, ratings). You grant Lovethics a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, and use that content to operate, provide, and improve the Service, and as described in our Privacy Policy. You represent that you have the rights to your content and that it does not violate these Terms or the rights of others. This license continues for content shared with others or retained for legal, safety, or backup purposes, even after you delete it or close your account.
You may use the Service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not: reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code; scrape, crawl, or harvest data; use the Service to build or train a competing product; interfere with or disrupt the Service or its security; introduce malware; access the Service through automated means except as we permit; or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
Lovethics helps confirm that members are real people, but we do not conduct criminal background checks and cannot confirm that any member is who they claim to be, is safe, or is suitable to meet. You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, online and in person. Take sensible precautions: meet in public, tell someone your plans, and stop any interaction that makes you uncomfortable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lovethics is not responsible for the conduct of any member or any harm arising from interactions between members.
Certain features require a paid subscription; prices, features, and billing periods are disclosed at purchase. Subscriptions bought through an app store are billed and managed by that store under its terms. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price until you cancel, and you can cancel through your app-store account settings. Except where required by law or the store's policy, payments are non-refundable. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, or as required by law.
The Service — including its software, design, logos, and the "Lovethics" name and marks — is owned by Lovethics and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including Sections 05, 07, 11, and 13–18.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty regarding availability, security, accuracy, or results. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and you should not rely on it as your sole basis for decisions about other people. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of these may not apply to you, and you may have additional rights.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lovethics and its officers, employees, agents, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, or for any harm arising from your interactions with other members. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the claim or US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Our affiliates and suppliers are intended third-party beneficiaries of this Section.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lovethics from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your content, your interactions with other members, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
Before starting arbitration, you agree to first contact us at legal@lovethics.com with a written description of your claim and to work with us in good faith for at least 60 days. This is a precondition to arbitration.
Except as below, any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, under the Federal Arbitration Act, rather than in court. A court decides only disputes about the scope or enforceability of this arbitration agreement.
You and Lovethics waive any right to a jury trial and agree claims may be brought only individually, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate claims or preside over any class proceeding.
Either party may instead bring an individual claim in a small-claims court with jurisdiction, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
If 25 or more similar demands are asserted with the help of the same or coordinated counsel, they will be administered in staged batches to promote efficient resolution, with timelines adjusted accordingly, consistent with the applicable rules.
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement (16.2–16.5) within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing legal@lovethics.com with your name, your account email or phone, and a clear statement that you opt out. It won't affect any other part of these Terms.
This Section does not apply to users in the EU, EEA, UK, or Switzerland, or anywhere the arbitration agreement or class waiver is prohibited by law; those users are handled by the courts of their residence as required by local law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any matter not subject to arbitration (or brought by an opted-out U.S. user) will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
We may update these Terms. For material changes we will provide notice through the Service or by other means at least 30 days before they take effect where feasible, and update the date above. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Entire agreement: these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Cookie Policy are the entire agreement regarding the Service. Severability: if any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. No waiver: our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Assignment: you may not assign these Terms; we may, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. Force majeure: we are not liable for delays or failures beyond our reasonable control. Electronic communications: you consent to receive communications electronically. Notices: legal notices to us go to Lovethics, Seattle, WA, USA, and legal@lovethics.com.
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website or use an app. We also use similar technologies — software development kits (SDKs), pixels, local storage, and device identifiers — which we refer to collectively as "cookies." This Cookie Policy explains what we use and how to control it, and complements our Privacy Policy.
Required for the Service to function — authentication, security, keeping you signed in, and load balancing. These can't be switched off in our systems.
Remember choices you make (such as settings and language) to give you a more personal experience.
Help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it — which features are used, and where errors occur. This data is aggregated where possible.
Where we use them, these help measure and, if applicable, deliver relevant marketing. We do not sell your personal information; where these technologies are treated as "sharing" under U.S. state law, you can opt out (Section 05).
Some cookies are set by third parties who provide services to us — for example, analytics providers, infrastructure and security vendors, and the app stores and payment processors that handle subscriptions. These parties may process information under their own privacy policies. We use vendors selected for their security and privacy practices and limit their use of information through our agreements with them.
